What does the flat monthly fee replace?

It replaces an agency margin added to every shift. Your school pays RecruitCrew one monthly subscription, then agrees and pays each teacher or TA’s rate directly.

Does RecruitCrew take a cut from my pay?

Accepted Answer

No. You work as self-employed supply staff, agree your rate with the school and the school pays you directly. RecruitCrew does not employ you, charge you for finding work or deduct anything from your pay.

Question 3

What happens if our school fills more shifts than the plan includes?

Accepted Answer

A per-shift overage charge applies. We will confirm the rate with your school before taking an additional charge. You can also choose a plan with a higher included limit.

Question 4

What if no one accepts our shift?

Accepted Answer

The shift remains unfilled and your school is not shown a confirmed booking. RecruitCrew cannot guarantee that a suitable person will be available, so the school should keep its usual contingency arrangements.

Question 5

When is our booking confirmed?

Accepted Answer

RecruitCrew sends the shift to fully vetted staff who match the role, postcode area and availability. The first suitable person to accept fills the shift, subject to the school reviewing the information provided.

Question 6

Which checks must be clear before a teacher or TA receives shifts?

Accepted Answer

Identity, right to work, an Enhanced DBS check and a Children’s Barred List check must all be recorded as clear. The school still makes its own safer-recruitment and safeguarding decisions.

Question 7

Does using RecruitCrew satisfy a school’s KCSIE duties?

Accepted Answer

No. RecruitCrew records checks that support the school’s Keeping Children Safe in Education duties. It does not replace the school’s own checks, judgement or statutory responsibilities.

Question 8

Can our school cancel its subscription?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. The final process and any refund position will be set out in the solicitor-reviewed Terms of Business.
