Terms of registration

Draft terms for self-employed teachers and teaching assistants registering with RecruitCrew. They require specialist solicitor review before use.

Draft pending solicitor review. Do not rely on this page as final legal advice or a final contract.

1. Who these terms are with

RecruitCrew is a trading name of Orbix Technologies Ltd, company number 16973554. These terms are intended to cover your registration and use of RecruitCrew to find school shifts.

2. No fee for finding work

RecruitCrew will never charge a teacher or teaching assistant a fee for finding or introducing work. The final statutory wording and scope under the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 must be confirmed by a solicitor.

3. Pay

You agree your rate directly with the school and the school pays you directly. RecruitCrew does not process, hold, transfer or deduct from your pay. The final terms must explain responsibility if a school pays late or does not pay, subject to RecruitCrew’s statutory status and duties.

4. Registration information

You must provide accurate, current information about your identity, qualifications, experience, location, availability, right to work and safeguarding history. You must tell RecruitCrew promptly if relevant information changes.

5. Checks before matching

RecruitCrew requires identity and right-to-work evidence plus an Enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check before you can receive shifts. The final terms must describe reference, qualification, update-service and overseas-check processes once the operating procedure is confirmed.

6. Choosing shifts

A notification lets you consider a shift; it does not guarantee work. You choose whether to accept based on the school, date, times, role and rate shown. Acceptance records your intention to attend, subject to the school’s review and the direct terms agreed with it.

7. Conduct and safeguarding

You must follow the school’s policies, safeguarding procedures and reasonable instructions. RecruitCrew may pause or remove access where it reasonably believes there is a safeguarding, conduct, accuracy or legal concern. The final suspension, investigation and appeal procedure requires solicitor review.

8. Leaving RecruitCrew

You may ask to close your registration. The final process must explain active bookings, records RecruitCrew is legally required to retain and when other personal data is deleted.

9. Self-employed status

You use RecruitCrew as self-employed supply staff. RecruitCrew does not employ you or control when you are available or which shifts you accept. The status and contract for each school engagement must be agreed and documented with the school.
